Emma Roberts attends the Royal College of Music International Opera Studio. A Stephen Catto Memorial scholar, she is supported by the Countess of Munster Trust, the Josephine Baker Trust and in 2021 was awarded the Mendelssohn Boise Scholarship. Emma studies with world-renowned bass Brindley Sherratt and song coach Simon Lepper. In 2017 she graduated Manchester University with a Bachelor of Music degree and in 2020 graduated with distinction from RCM Masters programme in Vocal Performance.

Recent operatic work includes: Orfeo (Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice/Barefoot Opera), Zanetto (Zanetto/Barefoot Opera); Eduige (Rodelinda/RCM Opera Studio); Lola (Cavalleria Rusticana/The Opera Makers), Zita (Gianni Schicchi/Opera Shack). RCM Opera Studio filmed scenes - Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Tolomeo (Tolomeo), Hélène (la Belle Hélène), Nero (l’Incoronazione di Poppea)

Upcoming opera work includes; Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte/RCM Opera Studio); Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel, RCM) and Minsk Woman (Dove's Flight/RCM).

Concert highlights include; mezzo solo in Prokofiev Alexander Nevsky (RCM symphony); Turnage dramatic song cycle Twice Through the Heart (RCM New Perspectives, Turnage residency); Verdi Requiem (Leith Hill Musical Festival), Mozart Requiem (West Barnes Singers), Bach Christmas Oratorio (Brighton Orpheus Choral Society), Messiah (Buckingham Choral Society).

Emma has worked with conductors including Jonathan Willcocks, Timothy Lines, Serge Rybin, Martyn Brabbins, Mark Biggins, Michael Rosewell, Jonathon Peter Kenny as well as directors including Olivia Fuchs, Polly Graham, Bill Bankes-Jones and Jo Davies. She has participated in masterclasses with Dame Sarah Connolly, Joyce El-Khoury, Michael Chance, Dame Ann Murray and Lynne Eustis.
